Youngest Youth

Our club VMHC Basko is a club where hockey, sportsmanship and

socializing and coming together! With our growing number of members, we are proud of who we are

are as a club and we focus on the future of the club.

New youth members are very welcome at VMHC Basko. You can start learning to play hockey from the age of 5. Children aged 5 and up can get acquainted with the sport of hockey on Saturday mornings during "Kabouterhockey" (gnome hockey). Children aged 6 and up are taught the basics of hockey in a playful way at the hockey school. After a year at the hockey school, the children are placed in an F team (approximately Group 4 of primary school). These children play in the internal competition at Basko, or in the KNHB competition against other F teams in the region. From the E-youth (approximately Group 5 and Group 6 of primary school), competition is played at Basko under the KNHB. The first-year E players play in 6-a-side teams, while the second-year E players play in 8-a-side teams. The children in the Kabouters, hockey school, F, and E groups fall under the Youngest Youth Committee, which can be reached via [email protected]. It is important to remember: hockey is a sport organized by volunteers. Please be aware that if you or your child starts this sport, the club will also call upon you for coaching, the information desk, training, driving, etc. A club is nothing without volunteers. And if everyone contributes a little, hockey is a fantastic sport that you and your child will enjoy immensely. Please note! The hockey age limit (cutoff October 1st) does not coincide with the school age limit (often January 1st). Therefore, always register via the website so that the system calculates your hockey age and we can place you in the correct group.
