Youth

From the D-youth (approximately Group 7 and Group 8 of primary school) up to and including the A-youth (max 18 years), you play hockey in 11-a-side teams. These categories fall under the Youth Committee, which can be reached via [email protected]. Please note! The hockey age (cutoff October 1st) does not coincide with the school age (cutoff often January 1st). Therefore, always register via the website so that the system calculates your hockey age and we can place you in the correct group. You usually spend two full seasons in each age group (D, C, B, and A) before moving up to the senior level (from age 18). You play a match on Saturdays, and most teams train twice on a weekday. The specific days and times for this will only become clear during the summer holidays when the training schedule for the new season is created. From the B-age group onwards, you will also be invited to the referee course and are required to officiate matches. See more information on the Referees page. In addition to the outdoor season, which runs roughly from the summer holidays through the end of November and again from the Carnival holidays through the summer holidays, there is the opportunity to participate in indoor hockey during the winter period (participation is not mandatory and is in principle only possible if your team participates).
